non-exempt wells

Well Construction Applications and payment must be received by the Medina County GCD before drilling may commence.

non-Exempt wells:
Irrigation/Municipal/Industrial
Requires well construction application
Requires an operating permit to pump

Registration/Construction Application

To have well constructed closer than 50 feet from neighbors property line

Licensed drillers may be licensed in any Texas county, and can be found at the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website.

Wells that are equipped to produce in excess of 25,000 gallons of groundwater a day, or a well drilled for any other purpose than household or livestock use, such as agricultural, industrial or public use.

For a non-Exempt well

  • If existing well: registration
    If new well: well construction application
  • meter (reading must be logged monthly, and log must be kept by owner for inspection)
  • Static water level (swl) sensor
  • Operating permit
  • Annual use report
